Aquarian Teacher Trainer Academy

Intern

The Intern is in the initial stage of training. The Intern’s responsibility is to assist in the organizational and administrative aspects of the course and learn how to deliver the program through co-teaching and assisting with Practica. The Intern works as part of a Teaching Team and is mentored by the Lead Trainer of the Team. Internship usually lasts two years. An Intern is allowed to teach a segment of the program under the supervision of a qualified Trainer. They are required to attend all hours of the Training.

Associate Trainer

The Associate Trainer works as part of a Team under the supervision of the Lead Trainer. The Associate is eligible to teach up to 25% of a program. An Associate training period will range over one or more cycles of a Teacher Training Program. When the Associate Trainer is ready to progress, he/she has two options. They can move into the role of either the Specialist Trainer or Professional Trainer.

Specialist Trainer

The Specialist Trainer is one who prefers to specialize in one or more subject areas in the curriculum and is not on track to become a Professional Trainer. For example, a Trainer might be a Postures Specialist or a Sound and Mantra Specialist. As part of a Training Team under the supervision of a Lead Trainer, a Specialist may teach up to 25% of a program. In addition to expertise in their chosen area, the Specialist Trainer must meet the same criteria as the Associate.

Professional Trainer

The Professional Trainer is licensed to deliver any content area (exception: Western Anatomy) and can participate in any KRI Level 1 Teacher Training Program. The Professional can teach up to 80% of a program as part of a team under the supervision of a Lead Trainer.

Lead Trainer

The Lead Trainer is the engine of a program, leading a Training Team and licensing a Level 1 Training Course with KRI. The Lead Trainer is proficient in all aspects of course content (with possible exception of Western Anatomy) and may teach up to 80% of the program. The Lead Trainer has the ability to set up an intern program and mentor Interns and Associate Trainers.

Teacher Trainer License Renewal

2008 TRAINER LICENSE RENEWAL – New Dates!! New Process
For Associates, Professional and Lead Trainers:

KRI is streamlining the renewal process and re-scheduling it to ensure that renewing Trainers are aware of important new policies and guidelines when their programs begin.

  • Because most of our teaching training programs begin in the Fall, a major change is to align the renewal process with course calendars. Therefore we will begin 2008 Licensing in the Spring; current 2007 Trainer Licenses will be valid until June 2008. KRI will have more information about your 2008 renewal later.

  • Your IKYTA Professional Membership still needs to be renewed. Please make sure you take care of this soon. Go to www.kundaliniyoga.com to renew. International Trainers please note that your Licensing cost no longer includes your IKYTA membership.

Teacher Trainer Executive Committee (TTEC)

Teacher Trainer Executive Committee (TTEC) is a group of experienced and dedicated teachers from around the world which advises KRI in any and all Teacher Training issues. In practice, all policies, principles and programs are guided and established by the TTEC. The members of TTEC represent the psyche of the “elders” of our trainer community who have dedicated their lives to living and spreading the teachings of Yogi Bhajan. Their combined experience has been paramount in identifying the key Teacher Training principles and the legacy of Yogi Bhajan and his teachings.

Our intent is to be inclusive and transparent. We invite you, the Aquarian Teacher Trainers, to engage in the workings of the TTEC. As a first step, we have provided below:
